L1-like non-LTR retrotransposon from zebrafish
A brief description of the entry. Suggestions for modification to this description can be submitted using the adjacent pencil icon.
L1-3_DR is a family of L1-like non-LTR retrotransposon. This family was active recently (no stop codons in protein sequences encoded by the genomic element) and could still be active. It encodes two proteins: 449-aa L1-3_DR1p (positions 214-1560) and 1279-aa L1-3_DR2p (positions 1565-5401). These proteins are most close to corresponding proteins encoded by other L1-like elements. L1-3_DR1p is a putative RNA/DNA binding protein, and L1-3_DR2p is composed of the AP endonuclease (aa positions 1-200) and reverse transcriptase domains. This is the same element as the Tx-like non-LTR retrotransposon family, MutsuDr3, specifically inserted into 5S ribosomal RNA genes .
Cross-genome screening of novel sequence-specific non-LTR retrotransposons: various multicopy RNA genes and microsatellites are selected as targets.

Number of matches to this model that meet the "Gathering" threshold and more stringent "Trusted" threshold. For each threshold, two numbers are shown: (1) the number of matches to this model after removing redundant hits to other models ("non-redundant"), and (2) the total number of matches above threshold, including those with better scoring matches to other models ("all hits").
The model is 5520 positions long. The average length of non-redundant hits to the model is 1222.5. This table shows the number of hits above score thresholds:
|non-redundant||all hits||non-redundant||all hits|
