TRANSIB2 belongs to the TRANSIB family of DNA transposons. It generated 5-bp duplications of the CANTG target sites upon its integration into the genome, has 43-bp terminal inverted repeats. TRANSIB2p is likely the most accurate reconstruction of a TRANSIB-like transposase, due to the youth of the family. TRANSIB2 encodes the 690-aa TRANSIB2p transposase (positions 543-2612).
