TABOR_I is an internal part of TABOR endogenous retrovirus flanked by TABOR_LTR long terminal repeat. TABOR, DM412, MDG1 and BLOOD form separate TABOR-group of Gypsy-like retroviruses. They all have non-specific 4 bp-long duplications of target site; their LTRs have canonical 5'-TG and CA-3' termini; PBS starts immediately after LTR. It's possible that TABOR-group retroviruses can be infectious, interacting with Gypsy-like elements which encode envelope. The TABOR virus was active recently since its provirus is flanked by identical LTRs and its ORFs are not saturated with false stop-codons.
