PAL8B_CE is a putative non-autonomous DNA transposon; it has perfect 49 bp-long terminal inverted repeat and generates duplications of 8 bp-long target sites upon its integration in the genome. The PAL8B_CE nucleotide sequence forms a palindrome-like structure with a 140 bp-long stem. Multiple transpositions of PAL8B_CE were likely induced by HAT-like transposase.
