TAR1 - Telomere Associated Repeat 1

The central region of TAR1 is comprised of 20 or more tandem repeats of a 30bp satellite. The first ~300bp are homologous to LTR60, which overlaps the TAR1 element in the genome -- a possible oversight during the initial definition of TAR1. The initial presentation of TAR1 was in the opposite orientation.
