Putative TcMar-Tigger DNA transposon, MERX subfamily

Description

MERX has 22 bp TIRs that show some similarity to Tigger DNA transposons, including Tigger8. MERX appears to have been introduced into an early eutherian ancestor. Note that MER stands for MEdium Reiteration frequency interspersed repeat. As such, MERs as a group are a grab bag of DNA transposons and retrotransposons.
