MER8 (DF0000935)

TcMar-Tigger DNA transposon, MER8 subfamily (non-autonomous)

Description

MER8 has 24 bp TIRs and "TA" TSDs. It appears to be Primate-specific. Note that MER stands for MEdium Reiteration frequency interspersed repeat. As such, MERs as a group are a grab bag of DNA transposons and retrotransposons.
