MER6 (DF0000881)

TcMar-Tigger DNA transposon, MER6 subfamily (non-autonomous)

Description

MER6 has 25 bp TIRs and "TA" TSDs. It may be primate specific. MER6A and -B are shorter deletion products. Note that MER stands for MEdium Reiteration frequency interspersed repeat. As such, MERs as a group are a grab bag of DNA transposons and retrotransposons.
