MER53 (DF0000859)

hAT DNA transposon, MER53 subfamily

MER53 is an almost perfect palindrome, and has "TA" TSDs. Note that MER stands for MEdium Reiteration frequency interspersed repeat. As such, MERs as a group are a grab bag of DNA transposons and retrotransposons.
