MER136 (DF0000733)

Unclassified, putative DNA transposon, MER136 subfamily

Description

Present in the chicken genome. 56 bp TIRs. Note that MER stands for MEdium Reiteration frequency interspersed repeat. As such, MERs as a group are a grab bag of DNA transposons and retrotransposons.
