Internal region of ERVK endogenous retrovirus, HERVK14C subfamily


Human HERV-K14 and its variants were examined carefully by Flockerzi et al [1]. HERVK14C is the internal region of an autonomous ERV associated with LTR14C long terminal repeats. Features in the consensus from ref [1]: lysine PBS (~8-30), gag (~159-2045), protease (~1865-2851), pol (~2824-5181), env (~5232-7434) and polypyrimidine tract (~7421-7432).
