Human HERV-K14 and its variants were examined carefully by Flockerzi et al . HERVK14C is the internal region of an autonomous ERV associated with LTR14C long terminal repeats. Features in the consensus from ref : lysine PBS (~8-30), gag (~159-2045), protease (~1865-2851), pol (~2824-5181), env (~5232-7434) and polypyrimidine tract (~7421-7432).
